Our History

A Bright History, A Brighter Future

1921

How did it all start?

A 19 year old young man by the name of Chafic Halwany started out a small trading business in Beirut, dealing with fresh fruits and vegetables.

2003

New Horizons

With a vision to expand the business regionally and internationally, the management founded an off-shore company in 2003 under the name of C-Food International s.a.l., to focus on the production, marketing and distribution of a variety of seafood products. The company was based in Lebanon, with a branch in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Today, C-Food International covers more than 35 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Central America through a well-structured network of distributors with a brand portfolio that includes Siblou, Sirella, Adriana, Trebon and Olfa.

2013

A Modern Identity

To better reflect the long-term vision and strategic mission, the company’s corporate identity was changed and its name became Halwany Consumer Products s.a.l.
HCP continued moving forward, in an increasingly competitive market, with its values and commitment at the core of its business. Today, the company is one of the leading players in the FMCG market in Lebanon, holding a diversified portfolio of brands that cater to consumer needs in several food categories.

2015

New Acquisition

The family’s holding company Halvest s.a.l. acquired 60% from the shares of Frigorifer S.A., one of the largest cold storage facilities on the Black Sea and the only frozen vegetables factory in Romania, built on a 50,000 m2 plot of  land in the city Tulcea.
In addition to this, a range of confectionery and dairy products was launched in the market. The line of dairy products witnessed a huge leap in a short period of time, making it the biggest selling category under the Plein Soleil brand.

2021

Expansion in the GCC

One century after its inception, and in the aim of building strong recognition for its brands and leveraging its presence in the GCC region, HCP founded its first entity in Dubai, UAE. This move is driven by strategic objectives that focus on expanding the group's foothold in the region.

2023

Global Strategy

As part of its internal strategy, HCP expanded further its portfolio of products for several brands such as Plein Soleil, Siblou, Kwik, Lamesa and others based on a comprehensive survey of the market dynamics.

This diversification in new food categories was built in alignment with global food trends and is defined as being consumer-focused to cater for changing needs and preferences.
